Well i did say i would offer my opinion on going back to Extend Broadband after multimax said they could not offer me the service they wanted or i wanted.
Nearly 2 weeks ago i had Extend Broadband fitted and if i am totally honest i am happy up to now.
4mb i pay for but i am getting almost 2 upload all of the time and 2 download constant.
Even at what we might call peak times my service is the same. Just did a speedtest to London not limassol or Nicosia and the result is below.

Hi BB&W.
Regarding re joining Extend are they going to be prone to the problems MM refers to below, or is Extend's internet access sourced elsewhere?
"Re: Multi max down tonight?
As Multimax, we had downtime approx 55mins that was caused by our upstream provider, the Turkish Telekom. We still do not know what the exact cause of the problem was, but telephones to turkey was down, as well as internet of some other providers. It looks like one of the 2 fiber optic cables they have out from Cyprus was down (for unknown reason) and we were part of the unlucky half."

Hi,
All ISPs are going to have their problems, but the difference between MM and eXtend is that it is easy to get hold of Gwyn or Paul (eXtend's No1 Resellers for 2012 - 0533 869 4371 or 0533 869 4372) and they come back to you when they say that they will.
I have a slight advantage (by pure luck) because they are just about to open a new internet and TV showroom next to Wines of the world shop in Catalkoy, but despite this, I know that they have been in this type of business for 10 years in North Cyprus (with the same company) and that they have loads of customers - I have seen them stopping everyday whilst they have been refurbishing the new showroom.
I believe that they are opening their new showroom this week and if what I have heard is true, there will be quite a party and some special offers - I will post the information here when I know exactly what is happening.
That's two good reasons to give Catalkoy a visit this week ! MikeK. I hope i have covered all your questions.

Just had a call from Extend customer service today saying my ADSL is now live,i was given a wireless connection until the ADSL went live ,so that took Telecom just about 12 days i think to give me my ADSL with Extend Broadband, not a bad time to wait considering were in Cyprus as some would say !
Now i shall update you on my ADSL connection once it is connected which will be Saturday i think .Fingers crossed

I hope you have better luck with ADSL than we did, it was a complete nightmare, the speed was useless and IF the internet was working then the phone was so crackly it was impossible to hear anyone. We reported it many times to Telecom but got nowhere so in the end instead of paying for a service, as well as the charge for the internet, we decided to knock it on the head, best move we ever made.

Given that you are a personal friend of the Extend agent are you able to give a subjective opinion?

Friends and business i have always kept apart and in this instance my opinion will not be clouded by friendship because i do need an internet connection capable of giving me constant true speeds up and down of minimum 2mb.
My last internet provider multimax said they could not give me what i needed all of the time so i moved back to where i originally started several years ago.Extend.
The temp wireless connection i have had for nearly 3 weeks has done the job and no need for late nights waiting for every one to go to bed so i had enough speed to conclude my days business.
Once the ADSL is connected i shall give a honest opinion and speed test of my findings regardless of my friendship, you can be sure of that.

Well i have just had Extend wireless Broadband fitted in my Alsancak Wines of the World shop and im very pleased with the 1st speed test.
Did the speed test to where i wanted to do it and not to the south of the island which i think is a gimmick, below are the results.

And here is a test done to a London server and not to Nicosia !!
