Internet on a Tablet

I'm a bit of an internet dummy-so sorry if this is a stupid question!!

We only spend a few weeks here and don't use the internet a lot-bit of browsing-new-email etc. We have Digiturk tv-so don't need it for telly etc.

We were bringing our old laptop with us to leave there-but it's just died. We were going to get a Turkcell dongle fitted so we could have the internet in the apartment.

I can't afford a laptop so I thought about buying an 8" tablet 16MgB-£129 at Argos.

It doesn't have a 'dongle' port-so does it get fitted with some sort of sim card from Turkcell-the same as a dongle?

Is there anything I should be aware of before I buy it as I don't want to waste £129.

Thanks

Rosie

you can buy something similar to one of these : http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/?categoryid=202

it takes the 3g simcard and distributes the net wirelessly to other devices.

Alternatively you can sign up for Multimax freedom package. 250TL/year maintenance fee and you can buy internet daily.

Hi Rosehillgirl,

Those Tablets may have sim-card slot so you should ask for it to the dealer. But as i know, all new models support dongles. Of course they don't have regular usb slots (thats what you meant i guess) but their packages include a cable which 3G dongles fits in it.

Here is a photo of the the cable:

But it is always better ask to shop. I beleive they will give more detailed answers and help you to set up 3G with you dongle!

Hi. I have an iPad mini and when I go back to the UK I don't have access to internet in my home. I buy internet use through my Tesco pay as you go and connect via wifi through my phone. It's fast and it works really well. I think you can do the same here but not sure if you have to have a contract with turkcell. If you do it's not expensive I think it costs about TL5 a month rental so if you are a swallow just keep it in credit for when you're away. It's what I used to do. Talk to customer services in Turkcell I've always found them very helpful.

I hope you can follow this and it's helpful.
