HELP PLEASE

Hello, can anyone help please.

I have a little second hand notebook, and windows 7.

This set up has served my needs re emailing my daughter and browsing the news, forums etc, nothing too technical.

Until hotmail changed to Outlook, since then I have had problems viewing my emails, outlook is regularly ''not responding'' etc etc.

I thought I might change from hotmail to yahoo but having tried I am finding it difficult to log in as it won't accept my user name or password, possibly because the previous owner was on yahoo?

Now I am getting constant messages saying that microsoft is no longer supporting windows and I could have security problems and that I should change to windows 8 but that it might not work on my computer and I will probably have to buy a new one.

Can anyone advise me please

This message in itself is an indication that you are running windows xp and not windows 7 which is a much older operating system.

Your problem might not be related to this at all, however, considering all and the fact that brand new laptops cost an all time low (you can get one for your needs for less than 200gbp), my outright suggestion is to upgrade.

Thank you for your reply.

Please excuse my ignorance, are you saying I should upgrade to windows 8 or upgrade my laptop.

I respect your advice as an expert and would, if you don't mind, like your opinion as to what laptop I should go for.

And, are you saying I should stick with hotmail?
