Bing

Can anybody tell me what "Bing" is, I downloaded windows 10 & it has appeared in my favourites ?

It's a 'Search Engine' - like Google or Yahoo, you can delete the Bing shortcut if you like, - or if you try it and like it, set it as your 'preferred search engine'...

There may well have been an option to include it during the 'win 10' download process (I haven't plucked up courage to do it yet!) that you have missed, and it got installed 'by default' - either way, don't worry about it.

Thank you Keithcaley, I did google it but didn't really understand. The only choices I got were when it asked if I accepted 4 different apps, as I don't use apps don't really know what they are for so unticked boxes.

This was the 3rd time I attempted to download it, the 1st time it ran for 16 hours before I stopped it. After I spoke to the IT people I bought the laptop from they said it should only take a couple of hours. I know people on here have said it took a long time. I believe there maybe too many people trying at one time as at 1st I had a circle of white dots going round in a circle on blue back ground, the successful time it took about 20secs doing that & then came up with instructions.
