Multimax Karsiyaka

I have Platinum but highest speed I have tested today is 4.76 - the last was 0.43. The support desk says nobody can help me until tomorrow.
Is anybody else having problems? I ask because if it is just me I will try things I wouldn't normally do.

I tested it yesterday am and got 28

Slow Download in Alsancak - 2.32 Mbps, contacted helpdesk after seeing your post, and they confirmed that there is an ongoing issue that they are working on - no timescale for a resolution yet, unfortunately.
We'll just have to get out and enjoy the weather!
Shame about Wimbledon though

I am also experiencing low/erratic speeds of 1.9-2.2Mbps downloads - in Alsancak.
TTNET (line to Turkey) is also showing very low/erratic speed.
There seems to be no answer from MM via on-line help or phone, so i am unable to report a problem. If anyone from MM is reading this BB - there is a problem....

Same in Ozankoy, no speed or very little, rang Multimax, it could be a couple of days before anyone looks at it.

Heh Heh...
Just keep an eye on the forum, when it's all back up and running ok, we'll post the info.
If you still have a problem after that, then you will need to let MMx know, but they do seem to be aware of, and working on the general issue at the moment.
Mollie, unless you have got an individual problem with your equipment (which is always possible, of course) I expect that, like greengate, you will find that all is well once they've sorted out the main problem. Sit tight & keep your fingers crossed!

If Ozankoy is having problems then this is obviously widespread and not just 1 base station.
Greengate
The speed test doesn't go via TTNET so the problem is within TRNC.
Keithcaley
Are they definitely working on it? The help desk told me there are no technicians working today and they would look at my problem tomorrow.
And please note this is not 'have a go at Multimax' - I am just trying to understand what is happening.

I contacted MM this morning as I was getting speeds of 0.69 to 1.89, I was told it would be passed on to be looked at tomorrow but have now received a text to say that the problem is with the link to Turkey. Not looking good for the Wales/ Portugal match tonight then

I've just received a text from MM saying the problem's TTNET and MM are working with them to resolve it. Hmnn?

Mmm...
Perhaps I was being over optimistic there, - the girl said that they were aware of a general problem - she never said that there weren't any technicians available, perhaps it's just her all by herself!
Unfortunately, we got cut off during our conversation, and I haven't been able to re-establish a connection to the helpdesk.
So, sorry if I've misled you!
Just seen the other posts re. 'TTNET' - & just seen a text from MMx to that effect also, that doesn't sound correct!

Just tested to Multimax server and got 23.10 and then to Extend server and got 14.2 and then to Ankara and got 9.1.
So problem may be fixed. If so then well done MM.

All seems to be well - speeds increased...
JBA - i have a separate link to TTNET (not via MM)
hopefully - the problem is resolved

Seems to be back to normal in Alsancak at the moment.
Tsonga vs Murray on the Centre Court, here we come!

Could the problems, in particular the delays in responding, be connected to the fact that yesterday was the first day of "Sekir Bayram" and most businesses had no option but to operate on "skeleton staff" if at all. Perhaps the difficulties of expats wanting to watch football and/or Wimbledon was not seen as being life threatening? |

Hi RR,
I'm sure that you're right, and at least no one on this particular thread got very excited about it!

Once again Multimax states problems with TTNET. Why can TTNET not provide the service we are paying for or is the TRNC so irrelevant in their general scheme of things? Suspect that this is the case

Sadly, this is my feeling also.
According to Erol, Multimax already pay TTNET for well over their maximum recorded bandwidth demand, but unfortunately TTNET are in a Monopoly position, and although Multimax can engage in a dialogue with TTNET, they are not able to bring any sanctions to bear.
I may be speaking out of turn (not unusual ) - but I suspect 'dirty tricks' here, given that another TRNC ISP has a long standing relationship with TTNET and its employees, and must feel somewhat threatened by the success of Multimax.
This is speculation, based on 'no proof whatsoever', but I did forsee such a situation developing when Multimax first started to take a larger share of the market.
You know what they say - "All's fair in Love and War"...
