Hi, I have just aquired one of these drives and am having real problems with it. My laptop runs in NTFS and the drive is set up in exFAT, if that is the problem I just do not know. The laptop recognises the drive when introduced but what ever files I put on it, become unreadable, which makes the drive useless. I have tried formatting and it will format in FAT but windows is not able to format the drive into NTFS. When I go to remove the drive , I get no indication from the computer that it is safe to do so. Any body any ideas on this please.

Sounds like the hard drive may have been formatted for use with an Apple Mac. I'd go to youtube (which I've just done to check) and you'll find several videos on the subject.

Thanks Hector have tried quite a few of them and also read comments on buyers at Amazon. Currently trying a program called Easyuse todo, this looks promising but will wait and see.
