Will we ever get 109 Mbs in the TRNC ?

A light hearted posting, therefore, not requiring any technical responses.

I know that the delivery of internet services in the TRNC differ greatly from that of the UK but having just spent two weeks there, it was a pleasure to witness constant speeds of 109 Mbs, enabling simultaneous use of two smart phones, 2 tablets and live streaming of HD TV by family members.

Arrived back in the TRNC last night, switched on my laptop to receive a sobering 2.75 Mbs, still it was 1.75 more than I was getting before our trip back to the UK. After 39 minutes use! (or lack of) I gave up and went to bed. Of course we all know it is the fault of TTNET don't we!

Not intending to get 'Technical' - but I thought that you had got things sorted out by having the downlead replaced.

Sorry to hear that you're still having probems.

Perhaps tomorrow morning and the first day of a new year we will all wake up to be told TTNET & all the ISP's have met and speeds for the whole of this year will not drop below 50 Mbps.

Phewwww, what's that just flown past our villa.

Sadly Keith, still very much hit & miss, at the moment 12Mbps.

Let's get back to the good old days when we talked in baud speeds - that was easy then until your tape deck got stuck and you lost half the data you thought you had stored - but nobody complained because it was so fast!!!!

Might be more apposite to first wonder if we will get mains electricity or water that pretty much stays on 24/7 365 days a year, at a cost that is affordable, maybe ?

A not so light hearted reply.

Continued improvements is all I ask for.... My sister in Suffolk most of the time gets worse speeds than I do! If it is important and I can't watch it I download it later, I can Skype most of the time to anywhere in the world and if it all goes wrong I pick up my kindle!

will we ever? we ARE able to get it for a long time by now. they are more than happy to sell their so called "dedicated", "symmetrical" or in their own terms business/corporate packages to home users like you and me, lol!
