Anyone know what has happened Dr Turk. Such a lovely man and rumours are that he has left The Kolan Clinic (previously VIP)

I was just about to post on here what I heard, namely that Dr Turk is no longer at Kolan in Kyrenia. This would appear to be a fairly recent thing and has left several patients in the middle of treatment spinning around! Hopefully the Kolan will make an announcement soon, and if anyone hears anything positive, please post on here. At the moment Dr Didem is seeing patients who had appointments with Dr Turk, but she is a specialist rather than a GP.

The reasons for his leaving are not known as yet, but let us hope that someone of a similar ilk is found,

Or can someone recommend a person such as Dr Turk who has a practice in Kyrenia?

Just to clarify a few things. Dr Turk is no longer working at Kolan Girne. The where and whys' are no ones business but his own.

As for patients 'being left in the middle of treatment spinning around' this is NOT the case, there are other Dr's available. Dr Didem practises Acupuncture etc as this is her choice but she is a physician and trained as one before specializing. There are also other Doctors there some you may know well like Dr Pembe others not so well. But all are highly trained and available for your health.

I would appreciate it if there was no more speculation on other peoples treatment from third parties. If you have any queries contact the clinic directly.

Chris

I for one and all of my family here will miss Dr Turk very much. We have always found him to be very caring, a good listener, very thorough, friendly and professional. He was what I call 'the old school'. We wish him well though.

Nurseawful, without betraying any confidences, are you able to tell us where Dr Turk is now practicing?

Does anyone KNOW for sure (not think) who is replacing Dr Turk as the 'Family GP' at the Kolan?

His reasons for going are none of my business, but I am disappointed that we are losing such a respected GP at the Kolan AND that they have stopped the discount for BRS members.

Loobyloo, I would second Dr Silem. She is excellent and has a practice in Girne but also works at the Kolan in Lefkosa.

There is a new post on the 'Medical & Dental' page today (Tuesday) called "Announcement from Dr. Turk" explaining his position - worth reading, in my view.

Dr Silem also works with the Baskent hospital in Lefkosa and my husband and I have both had excellent experiences there.
