Speaking as a moderator ,for my husband alan and myself i wish to thank you for clarifying the situation with such a full explanation.

May i all one question. We registered with vip but did not ourselves transfer to kolan (parking was a huge concern).bit did or records go to kolan or stay with you. This question could apply to others too. Or do we start again?
One more question -where is the medical centre.

Thank you Marion.. Yes all medical records were transferred from the Vipmed to the Kolan as part of our agreement when we merged. All your records are at the Kolan British Hospital in Kyrenia

Just spoke with Dr Turk to clarify documents are to be collected from the Kolan Clinic in Girne if you are moving over.

You say the Near East Hospital Kyrenia Medical Centre, does that mean the Kyrenia Medical Centre in Kyrenia is now working with the Near East, and we can go to Kyrenia Medical centre for small general health problems? or did I read it wrong?

A new medical centre has been set up called the Near East University Medical Centre in Kyrenia, just a few minutes away from Digiturk..

1. Are you part of, or affiliated to, the big Near East Hospital in Lefkosa?

2. If the answer to 1 is Yes, where will major surgery be carried out, in Girne or Lefkosa?

3. Will you be talking to the British Residents Society (BRS) and/or the Royal British Legion (RBL) about discounts for people who move across to you?

4. Will you be offering discounted WellMan and WellWoman health packages, such as those currently on offer at Kolan?

We come over a couple of times a year but could need access to a doctor because my husband has long term medical problems. Would he be able to come to your new clinic if necessary and will you still have a 24 hour service that can visit patients at home? Many thanks.

If you know the Digiturk office in Kyrenia its just opposite its a new building or from Bellapais traffic lights heading west its on your left.

Another landmark on the road where the clinic is to be found is the KAR (as in snow) supermarket which is on the left going towards the Bellapais lights and not too far after places such as Laconic etc. The clinic is on the right v irtually opposite KAR.

Another idea if you wish to inform friends, if any of you use facebook you can reach others there.

Thanks for the reply and it was my fault for not reading your post properly where it said Kyrenia Medical Clinic, I just assumed you meant Centre. I will get my records from the Kolan in Girne and transfer over.

Re Dr Turk Facts
1.My experience with Dr Turk was outstanding, he was quick to assess the danger I was in and rushed me into Kolan (Lefkosa) he is very straightforward, a lovely doctor/patient manner and his prompt action saved my life.
2. I also received excellant treatment at the Kolan Lefkosa
3. There no reason why any of us cannot stay with the Kolan, and also REGISTER with Dr Turk @ Near East then you have the choice if and when the need arises.
4. I have tremendous respect for Dr Turk and he must have had very valid reasons to do what he has done, i'm sure he is the kind of person who puts PATIENT care above all else.
5.Why have Kolan withdrawn BRS discount.
So all in all take a tip stay registered with Kolan, but also Register with Dr Turk
6. Competition in private medicine can only be good for the cost to the patient.
7. I will use both depending on the circumstance.

Just curious that Dr Turk's original post setting out the reasons for his move have been removed. Why was this done, and by whom?

I am writing once again to inform you that I have been asked to remove the announcement I posted last week on Kibkom due to the fact that the Administrators at Kolan British Hospital thought I discredited them.

For this reason, not to cause anymore problems for Kolan British Hospital I decided to removed the post.

Another big thank you to Dr Turk and Dr Pembe for the fantastic care they have given my wife when she has been ill in the TRNC - true dedicated professionals

My wife and I went to Kolan medical centre this morning to collect our medical records so as we could move with Doctor Turk. We were told that we could not have our records as they belong to Kolan, not so I told them, our medical records are our records not the property of Kolan. I insisted that they provide me with our records and eventually they said they would let me have a photocopy of our records but not for a week as they had other things to do, when I pointed out that we too had other things to do they became very obstructive. Not suprising that people are leaving Kolan in their droves. We want to be with Doctor Turk as we have immense faith in him and his medical skills.

Good news. I would like to move as well to Dr Turk.
But I don't understand why only members from BRS and RBL get a discount..

Or is it enough to be German...
