Rise in Price of Prescription Tablets

Has anyone else found an increase in the price of vital prescription tablets ?
Yesterday I paid almost double for tablets that I last bought in November for 85.38TL
Yesterday 158.45TL
I did query and was told that is the only ones we have now.
I know with the exchange rate etc., and price of prescriptions in UK etc., taken into account its not so bad, but
its just seems a bit of a steep rise? When I first came here many years ago I thought that a lot of vital medication was kept at a lower cost
for help for the people I am just so grateful I can afford it., for now anyway.!

Does the government take much of a bite out of the sales in tax?
If so I guess it might be them recouping a bit of tax.
With the economy how it is that's the way it is going to be unfortunately

Change your chemist, shop around as they try to sell you the imported ones.

Certainly Vets increased their charges by about 30% lately and pharmacist prescriptions roughly the same. They tell you that the Government determine the cost of prescriptions. If you received a modicum of indirim it's usually because you use the same place and they try to keep you happy and stay with them.

I guess maybe the government taxes them or maybe subsidises them or maybe a mix of the two?
Either way the coffers must be getting pretty empty.
Personally I'd like to think they could put a book mark in some of the less urgent building projects but then I guess there's jobs involved there.
Drugs from the vet have really gone up but vet prices are still a fraction of what they are in England.
I'm not a member of the doom and gloom brigade but I can say with some certainty that the economic situation worldwide is going to get worse for a few years yet.

The government set the prices of medications and vets fees. My essential eye drops went from 70tl to 114 this week.

Yes, Vets cost a fortune in UK but we're not there.
