Re: Orthopaedic surgeon
Not in Kyrenia but Prof. Barbaros Baykal at Near East Hospital I found to be absolutely brilliant last year with my radius and fibula fractures. Paid once (about 1/6th of what I had paid to see another ortho in Kyrenia that same week!), all follow ups were included, even plaster cast removal, aircast fitting etc. Definitely worth travelling to Nicosia if possible. All other orthos I had seen in Istanbul and Kyrenia had suggested external fixation or surgery, but Prof. Baykal explained all options in detail, including why many surgeons prefer to treat the same kinds of fractures surgically, and we got great results with just casting. Really can't fault anything about the treatment I received at NEU hospital.

I have used Ozan Rasi, opposite the motor cycle shop at Karakum (next to Lemar) and he has sorted me out on more than one occasion

Re: Orthopaedic surgeon
Yes, so have I but I am not right still nearly a year on. I had an op for Carpal Tunnel syndrome. I need the other hand done as well but would rather suffer the pain than go through another op and still have pains after all this time. Yes I had been back to see him but he says its normal !!!!!

Can't speak highly enough of Can Cobanoglu Lefkosa, he is a surgeon but regards surgery as a last port of call... Treated several family members over the years and none have had any further problems associated with the issue at hand (pardon the pun).

Re: Orthopaedic surgeon
Highly recommend Tayfun Bay at Kolan hospital in Lefkosa. He operated very successfully on a broken wrist and last year I fractured my Humerus bone in three places. Tayfun Bay explained to me that the best way was to 'splint' the arm rather than operate and insert bolts and plates. The 'splint' was in place for 4 months with regular check ups/ x-rays at Kolan. My arm is as good as new with full mobility and no loss of strength.
