India Tourist Visa - Important news for UK holidaymakers
Heads up if you are planning a trip to India - if you go online to look at the visa application process it has been announced that from March this year all applicants have to report IN PERSON to facilitate biometric tests.
I am guessing that this means getting 3rd party couriers or friends to make applications for visas on your behalf will not be allowable?
It is already ridiculously difficult to visit India already for UK / ex-pat tourists - it has now got even more impossible!

Just a thought, then why not ask at the meeting of the BHC and ask them to put pressure on those making these decisions to help in considering an alternative.

After the difficulty of getting an Indian visa a couple of years ago we have decided that we will never go again so Taj Mahal has been crossed off the bucket list!

I don't understand this. I filled in a simple online form, printed it and took it to London with my passport. Left the completed form plus passport with the Indian office and of course the payment. Two days later received an email to collect visa etc............all done no problems. One more thing, all this happened last week and I also collected my wife's visa without her.

Re: India Tourist Visa - Important news for UK holidaymakers
Thank heavens we did our trip when we did. Can't remember how we got our visa, but we booked through a holiday company which were most helpful. A few months later we did Sri Lanka - another great experience. Guess nothing ever stays the same but why on earth should India make it difficult for Brits, or haven't they forgiven them for some of the history.
So that means anyone living in TRNC must go to London to get their visa? Or is there another way.
