Istanbul Ataturk Airport

I will be changing THY flights there next month for the first time in many years.

Are the transit arrangements simple?

Do you still have to go through security again before boarding the onward flight, as you did when I was last there?

The transit process is easy, when you reach the Airport building head for the transit route (sign posted), 5 mins tops to reach the security check without having to stop at the transit desk (if you have your boarding pass), the security check itself is as per usual for any airport, anything from 2 mins to twenty depending on the numbers, when complete head for the escalator and you are in the concourse, I have never been any longer than 15 mins start to finish.

Bus pulls up at doors show your boarding pass for Cyprus up the stairs and you are air side no security
Or on the rarity they get an air-dock at the end of the tunnel flash your boarding pass and you are air-side no security
Been like that since March last year I was over in January last

Wanderer, I will be flying Munich - Istanbul - Ercan and return.

You will probably do as I have put and the other method on the return I assume they trat Germany as the UK part of the EU
Unless they change it because of the British holidaying Syria lately

I found that if the first security area is very busy then if you carry on along the concourse there is another one a couple of hundred yards further on.

I flew Ercan to Ataturk last week, straight through security no problems just showed boarding card for onward journey.

I flew UK to Ataturk yesterday and we were bussed from our plane to the terminal, we could not leave the bus until we had shown our passports to the 2 men checking them at the bus doors, after that it is straight into airport and head for the transit gates, had to show my boarding pass before being allowed into the transit/gates area.
