The Property Centre - Alsancak
Just a general query if anyone as had dealings with this firm. Friends of ours rented a property through them and paid their rent each month on time. They returned to the UK permanently in January and having been left with the task of getting the final bills to the Property Centre so that the couple could have their deposit returned. Three months later still no sign of the deposit and a long list oif excuses. I realise that the owner/manager is in hospital but surely some delegation kin Mooney matters must prevail. Is it worth contacting the police, can the company be charged with with holding monies owed. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.

Good afternoon Ken,
Thank you for your post regarding The Property Centre.
Given, as clearly acknowledged by you, that the owner has been in a very serious road traffic accident, do you not feel that this post is both inappropriate and unnecessary?
We have no doubt, that as soon as the owner is fit enough to do so, he will be in contact with you directly.
In the meantime, we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding.

It was not Ken who posted originally. I am sure that in the time between them moving back to the UK on the 17 Jan and the time of the unfortunate accident the monies should have been reimbursed in that period. As stated excuses but no action! Would have sent email but they keep being returned as not being deliverable.

Is this company a 'one man band' if it cannot carry on conducting it's business when the owner is incapacitated?

Surely someone in the company could make the decision to pay this money, the owner they say is in hospital so someone can make the decision to pay this money owed.

Could not agree with you more mikelapta - an extremely poor excuse from the Property Centre.
Someone should be able to make decisions in the abscence of the company director otherwise how on earth does this company function?

Another point is that there must have been a contract covering payment of rent and reimbursement of deposit on vacation if property. Hence breach of contract.

It may of course not be convenient but is it worth going to there offices and discussing face to face? Maybe this has been done and replies not satisfactory?
Do not understand why no one can make the decision to refund the deposit providing of course the tenants have complied with their contract terms. If they have not complied then of course this could affect the deposit refund or the amount refunded. In the grand scheme of things I would not have expected the refund of a clients deposit to adversely affect the business cashflow and any good business would be working with the client to resolve differences or misunderstandings.
Does seem a little strange.
