Turkish Visa Con Beware

Our party of 5 travelled to Hatay in Turkey last week for extensive Dental Treatment and four of us had Visas obtained online. However one party member had decided to buy his Visa at The Airport as he had done this many times at Istanbul Airport.

On arrival he expected to pay the 20 dollars as usual but the guy at the Visa desk insisted it was 50 Euros at Hatay Airport and refused him entry. Anyway to cut a long story short as our pick up was waiting he paid it for a easy life. bearing in mind the language problem.

Just to advise anyone who intends to travel to Turkey, especially to a smaller airport in the near future it may be better in my opinion to purchase a E Visa prior to departure.

Since the E-Visa was introduced the advice from the Turkish Government has always been to apply
1 week before and at least 24 hours before departure through the approved website.
Choose your spouse, friend, relative, in difficult days. On a good day, no one shows their purity.

I think since the Turkish Government introduced the E-visa, the cost of a visa when landing in Turkey is a lot more expensive.
I don't think landing at one of the smaller airports make any difference as it is Government controlled the price of a visa on arrival.

i think they're on to a good con to be honest. my dad and partner flew to Antalya on friday and were charged 35 dollars each (on the visa stamp it actually says 25 dollar visa) so here the remaining 10dollars went god knows...... apparently from hearing other stories, they seem to charge what they like or refuse you entry and when you question them you get blank looks and they don't understand a word.

İt has been a main topic on many Forums and government websites regarding evısas. Please be aware that by the end of thıs year you wıll no longer be able to get your vısa when you arrıve at Turkey. So ıt wıll be good practıce to ensure you do your vısa prıor to vısıtıng. Also there are many sıtes who can do the vısa for you on lıne but charge you bıg money. make sure you use thıs sıte for obtaınıng your vısa.
