New water meters - in case you didn't know.

Aimed particularly at those of us 'swallows'.

Apparantly If no water is used for one month then the valve will close automatically, thus shutting off the meter. If you press the black button on top of the meter and it says KONTROL, you just put your swipe card in (assuming credit on it), press the black button again and you will hear the valve open to allow water through.

If there is a fault with the meter or the blue tamper proof clip has been disturbed, pressing the black button the display will say 'KAPALI' (closed) you then have to call the Belediye and they will have to come and reset it to allow the valve to open.

The meter was fitted in my absence on Monday 29th June. I only found out on Thursday 2nd July. Went straight to Belydere on Friday 3rd to collect card and bought a lot of credit.

Whils tthe 'month' rule does not apply in this instance I think your suggestion is worth a try.

Water coming through meter today, thankfully.

Assuming that water supply is being rationed to every 4 days as have done nothing to meter.
