The advice on the UK Government site for emergency contact is +357 22861100 (RoC). The TRNC office is open only a few hours a couple of mornings per week and requires a pre-booked appointment. Has the loss/theft been reported to the TRNC Police? Not being pedantic, but it is the British High Commission here in Cyprus.

Actually Tom not being pedantic but the north doesn't justify a commission high or otherwise. It's the British Council.

It is the British High Commission which covers all Cyprus. They have an office in the North which only opens at set times.
Embassies are diplomatic missions sent to non-Commonwealth countries, while High Commissions are diplomatic missions sent to Commonwealth countries. The "head of mission" at the former are called Ambassadors; at the latter, they are called High Commissioners. As well as referring to diplomatic missions themselves, the terms "Embassy" and "High Commission" refer to the buildings in which those missions are based.

The "Empire" Is alive and well!
