Hi
My wife and I will be visiting Catalkoy for two weeks late August.
We are looking to visit Famagusta possibly staying overnight there.
Just wondered if there are any buses that run from Girne and if so how long does the journey take.
Would also gladly take on board any advice regards Famagusta
Many Thanks in advance
Gary

You can get the Dolmus opposite the car park in Girne just before the Colony Hotel usually the drivers are shouting out for passengers they fill the bus then go, takes just over 1hr.
A nice town inside the city walls if you like walking you can walk round the walls of the city, I find 1 day is enough there quieter than Girne a few shops lots of nice cafes and historical ruins. If you drive you could hire a car easy to get there and you could then travel around outside the walls.

It would be a shame to go to Famagusta & not see Salamis so if at all possible hire a car for a few days. The drive east along the coast road is quite spectacular then you could come back the very boring Lefkosa way.

If you are going to Famagusta, you must go and visit Salamis, it is a must see for the area.

Salamis is great, but can you stand the heat in August? It's tough!

If you are staying in Çatalköy you can book your ticket in advance and the dolmus will pick you up on the way through. They picked my sister in Law up from Happy Valley.

Go to 'Petek' and have lunch or snack and or coffee. It's a very curious and interesting place right by the big venetian wall and lion
