XBMC Kodi help

Anyone out there who can help with problems I have with my XBMC box when using Kodi. It almost seems that Kodi takes over my TV and when I move around in Kodi it switches the TV off or restarts it? Very strange. Other applications like Filmon, Showcase etc. seem fine.

The new box came with a HDMI cable I am using one already connected to my TV, can this make difference?

I live Lapta, alias is a bit of a give away.
