August's electric bill
I live in Ozankoy and haven't received a bill since 13 July and neither has my neighbour and friends in catalkoy. Has anyone else in Ozankoy or Catalkoy received this months bill?

Try reading the thread about Kibtek paper bills no longer being sent out. If you quickly scan the main forum you will find the topic.....many postings on this subject. Plus useful advice. You may well find you need to register with Kibtek and also go online on the Kibtek website to view bills.

Re: August's electric bill
We registered by SMS expecting to receive txt or email with bill details. Did not receive. However we then went onto the Kibtek website and registered and were able then to view the latest bill on line.
Suggest register direct on Kibtek website....look at the thread on the forum which gives advice on how to do this.

Re: August's electric bill
My understanding is you will have to go to the kibtek main office in GIrne to sign a form requesting a paper bill .You won't get a paper bill unless you sign the request form.
I'm tracking my bill online and once you have registered its easy and it gives out the same information as the paper bill.

It would be interesting to know if this was the case, as when asked at the bank why 8tl more, just get the 'Cyprus shrug'.Keithcaley wrote:Bank making a bit of profit, perhaps?teatime wrote:The bill on the website is approximately 8tl less than what comes up on the banks computer when you go to pay it. Re: August's electric bill
All new electronic meters fitted at our block of apartments near new harbour, no bills this month. As the meters were less than 5 years old this seems a massive waste of money. Also if they are dispensing with meter reading, what other jobs do these people have to go to??

Last week following the link posted by waddo I registered with Kibtec ..
Printed out my bill, the amount payable was xxx.xTL
Since the post regarding the bank being 8TL higher, I did a recheck .
Mysteriously the xxx.xTL payable has now increased by 6.9TL
Nothing to do with the bank making anything ..
Seems another scam by Kibtec if you pay at a bank ..
No other figures on the bill changed only the amount payable ..

Hi harita, I don't want to 'thrash this to death' - but do the sub-totals still add up to the old figure, or do they add up to the new figure?harita wrote:...Since the post regarding the bank being 8TL higher, I did a recheck .

It's not that I'm doubting what you're saying, but I just can't get my head around how they've managed to change the 'amount payable', without changing anything else...
I know that some Banks do actually charge you one Lira or so if you don't have an account at that branch - I think that Turk Bank is an example, but it was only slightly 'tongue-in-cheek' that I suggested that they were making 'extra profit'!
We haven't got our Smart Meter yet, and I'd like to be prepared for it when it happens...

Re: August's electric bill
Well, there is something strange going on, when I checked today all 3 accounts I pay are showing a different total from when I took note on 17th August, I took a screen shot of our neighbour's bill so I know it has changed. I also took a screen shot of our bill on 20th August and it shows same amount as 17th August. Only the final total has changed, the standing charge, units used charged and VAT remain same so very odd. The extra amount is 8.47TL on each bill. Would be very interested to know what the new charge is for.

KC we pay our Kibtek bill quite regularly at Turk Bank. Have never paid a Kurus extra over bill. We don't have a bank account there either.

The only conclusion that I can think of is that someone has to come to read the meter until we get the smart meter..
Maybe it's a way to pay their wages ..

Obviously, this is NOT a charge added by the bank as it is showing on the Kibtek website

Becker - It must just be the Turk Bank near me then!
harita - thanks for taking the effort to scan it - it's bizarre, isn't it?
come_on_aylin - perhaps it's to help towards the redundancy pay for the meter readers! - only joking...
I have to say that I'm stumped!

You still won't pay a Kurus extra above what the final figure is on the bill ..Becker wrote:KC we pay our Kibtek bill quite regularly at Turk Bank. Have never paid a Kurus extra over bill. We don't have a bank account there either.

Re: August's electric bill
Have just had a text sent saying how much the reading was on the date the bloke came round and that it must be paid by 25th of next month. It is usually read on the 26th of each month. There is no way we can check on whether the reading is correct or not because it will have increased since he came round!!

I want my paper bill as well as the text. What have we done wrong!!!!! Sorry, but despite all the messages on this subject I'm still not sure what it is all about and what the end result is supposed to be. Are paper bills being shelved or what. (If I could find my question mark, then I would use it .... long story)

It should be 'Shift-Star', that is, the key to the right of the 'Zero' numeral on the top row, whilst holding down the Shift key.sophie wrote:... (If I could find my question mark, then I would use it .... long story)
In the meantime, have this one - ? - just copy and paste it into a text document, and then you can copy it & use it whenever you want

Just received an email from Kibtek with my electricity bill attached plus got a text too! Must be Christmas come early...
BTW think the extra I mentioned in post 23 may have been for street lighting, its the only thing I can think of.

Re: August's electric bill
Had new meter fitted 2 months ago and registered by text on my phone, which Kibtec acknowledged. Since then - nothing. Getting concerned as it is now 2 months since the new meters were installed, so accessed the Kibtec website and managed to pull up our account which gave a reading from the 8th August to be paid by 9th September. Printed this off but had to convert to PDF document to do this. Will now go and pay this, but if I hadn't been able to access via the web no doubt interest would be added after the due date. This begs the question - what will happen with customers who cannot access online or more to the point do not understand the technology, and there must be any number of those amongst the elderly community.

Our meter was read on 25th August and a paper bill put in the box. On 26th August I received a text to say what the bill was. Both the paper bill and text were exactly the same amount. At least the system worked for us the first time. Fingers crossed that it works OK everytime!!

Re: August's electric bill
When does late payment kick in
So bill read 16th of July 118 tl so it said on the on line version when I checked previously zero as paid by the bank on standing order
Just checked again on line 118 tl it now has 12tl in the GZ column which a previous poster told me was late payment
If your meter is read on the 16th when are you fined for late payment?

I'm not quite sure...Belfast Belle wrote:...An email for your September Bill, that is a bit premature is it not Lol.
As a bill can be dated anywhere from the first of the month, right up to the last day of the month - and, say that it's dated 'some date or other' in September - do you call it the September bill, or not?
If it was dated Sept 1st, then I suppose you could say that it is for the electricity that you used in August, and if it was dated September 15th, then then around a half of the electricity charged for on the bill will have been used in August, and a half in September. More towards the end of the month, the 20th, or even the 31st, a larger and larger proportion of the bill will be for September's electricity usage.
When would you stop calling it 'August's Bill' and start calling it 'September's Bill'?
My feeling is that if the Bill was produced in September, it's the 'September bill' - It's not due for payment before then, and in fact you couldn't pay it before then, because it didn't exist. The bill that they produce, and the cash that you pay to Kibtek will go in their accounts as entries for September, and will come out of your personal budget for September.
I don't think that it's an issue of when the electricity was used, I think that it's a question of when they produced the bill.

Re: August's electric bill
We pay some of our neighbours bills for them and last month the majority of them were wrong. Hubby took photos of the meters and 3 visits and 4 hours later managed to sort them out. Yesterday got bills for August and guess what, most of them are wrong again?
I hope they go back to the old system soon as it is costing a fortune in petrol trying to sort this mess out.

Our bill is dated 1st September and to be paid by 1st October.
So to me it is Septembers bill, as kc says it will be Augusts electricity consumption (I presume)
