Has anyone noticed absence of Erdogan on TV lately. Since the bombings in Ankara (well about week before) someone who courts publicity has been absent??

Maybe there are legal restrictions leading up to an election that prevents him from broadcasting?

No you re allowed to go on right up until day before. I find it strange has not shown himself anywhere during these troubling times for so long.

The parties involved in the General Election are but is the President who is not meant to be partisan meant to? Maybe that office has other restrictions? I don't know this for sure but I'm guessing undue influence from the President no matter what his leanings could get him into legal difficulties - a bit like the Queen getting too involved in election politics

Of course appearing in public to lay a wreath etc... is not speechifying for political ends as such so that would be OK at any time....
