Does anyone know if the driving school near the police station in Girne still have the service that they will take all your documents and do the renewal for you? So you don't have to go yourself to Lefkosa.

From our experience you have to present your documents in person.

We didn't have to do anything but collect from them ..

Sorry to ask this as I am sure it must have been asked numerous times but I cannot find any details.

Never having done this before, what exactly do I need to simply renew my residency? I am over 60.

This is what I believe I need...
Valid passport plus a copy of the photo page & passport residency certificate page if renewing.
2 recent passport photos
Pink or Blue Photo ID issued previous year (if renewing), I have not got this! is it necessary
Rental contract in my name
Local bank statement showing holder's name and latest balance.
TL 14 in revenue stamps (Jun 15) from local Post Office.
Original letter from your local Muhtar confirming your residency address with a TL 2 revenue stamp (Jun 15) from the local post office.

Finally will I have to go to the hospital for tests too?

Have I missed anything? Any help please?

Yes, the driving school girls will still do the Lefkosa stuff for you. You need to go to the Girne Police Station in person though with your papers.

[As far as I'm aware, the over 60's don't need any blood tests. Sue

Thank you for the replies. Agobard do I have to go to the police if I am over 60? Also which driving school should I go to? Is it the one where the muhtar is based? Özbek driving school?
