Flights via Istanbul cancelled due to Heavy Snowfall. Maybe Europe could transport some of this stuff to the ALPS. Half of the UK affected by floods, the US suffering all sorts of extremes and China under a dangerous smog. You are so lucky out there in NC.

Looks like there are still problems today with flights to Istanbul, a few of this morning's flights from Ercan have been cancelled or delayed. No snow at Esentepe but very cold.

You leave the Alps alone Munchy. I can see them from where I live!

The British Tourists were bemoaning the fact that there was too little Snow in the Alps to enjoy the pistes!

There is certainly lots of snow at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen airport causing havoc. We were due to depart Stansted at 1320 on 31st Dec, but because of problems at Istanbul the incoming aircraft was massively delayed and we did not depart until 0300 on 1st Jan - a 15 hour delay!! Good to be home again, but surprised at how cold it is.

Don't believe that British Tourists moan! Anyway they are always on the piste!
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

I did the same journey the day before you. Boarded at Stansted at 2.30pm and eventually disembarked at Ercan at 2.30am. 10 hours in total with 4 spent sitting on the tarmac at Sabiha Gökçen.
