Post to the UK
I was just wondering if anyone has any problem with posting Christmas cards to the UK. I sent about 15 cards some two and a half weeks ago and as yet not one has arrived. I have sent my cards every year for the last 10 years without any problem and have always found the postal service to the UK, fairly quick and reliable. I would be interested in knowing if anyone has had a problem and where they sent them from, pm if you prefer.

Posted around 20 or so at least 3 weeks ago and to the best of my knowledge most, if not all, have arrived within the last 4 or 5 days. Spread around North, West and East of England. Plus 3 large calendars, these too have arrived. All from Karaoglanoglu PO

And in Reverse, I have to thank the powers that be, but to the best of my knowledge every single one of cards posted in the UK to us here have arrived (in the region of 50 from all points north of the English Channel)/ Once again sent to Karaoglanoglu PO. Am missing one from Australia which usually gets here first, but there could be a personal reason for that.

Re: Post to the UK
Sent our cards at the beginning of December, from Alsancak P.O., they've all arrived and we have got our cards okay from the UK and Australia. Took about 2-3 weeks.

As in another thread I've said we're delighted with service this year (both ways) but I have noticed there appears to be an absence of a Girne date stamp on them. One giving a Lefkosa date, then a Karaoglanoglu date. Perhaps the hold up is in Girne?

Re: Post to the UK
Just for information, I have received a letter enclosing a poster this morning from Altinkaya Hotel Ozankoy(I stayed there in September 2015) wishing me a Happy Christmas. The envelope has been stamped Girne 22.11.15 and the postage stamps are x 2 70kuros and 60kuros. So approx. 6 weeks to deliver.

Re: Post to the UK
Still waiting for cards and a small package posted from Bristol area at the beginning of December. Checked with the Post Office in Girne last week and quite frankly it is so chaotic in there I marvel that anything ever reaches its destination. None of the staff have a clue what they are looking for or whereabouts to look for things. Need about a month staff training and reorganisation.

Muffin1, you could very well have been asked to look for your own. I knew someone a couple of years back who offered at their local PO and his offer was accepted.
