What are your favourite dishes for lunch and dinner?

Most of us are living in an age of 'convenience' foods and prefer simple, easy and quick cooking methods, both for lunch and dinner - what are your preferences and would you go out to a restaurant to eat what you eat at home?

Your comments would be much appreciated!

I'm cooking Jambalaya Saturday and today is beef bourguignon while it's not too hot to put the oven on

I rarely have any lunch - a light breakfast and a good dinner is enough for me.

I'm lazy. I buy ready meals from the new Alsancak bakery and heat them in the oven. It doesn't seem worth cooking just for myself. I particularly love his Red Thai Curry and Chicken Curry but there are lots of other meals available and I've never had a bad one. I was the same in the UK - M&S ready meals!

I will occasionally make a huge batch of Chili Con Carne because NOBODY makes it hot enough. I split it into 6 or so portions and freeze them for another day.

No restaurant seems to make a decent Spaghetti Bolognese unfortunately. I make mine from scratch with all fresh ingredients apart from a tin of chopped tomatoes, I never touch those awful pasta sauces.

Google Jamie Oliver or BBC foods, both offer great original receipes have used them loads.

Very difficult to justify eating out, if you cook well, want to smoke indoors and want to drink and not drive. Also the price of wine (copious amounts) is ridiculously expensive.
