In another twist to the three GC police officers' arrest and detainment earlier this week, this TC news web-site tells of a news story in the GC newspaper Fileleftheros:
http://www.haberkktc.com/haber/rumlar-t ... 48768.html
After the police officers' arrest their wireless communication devices (I presume they are still called walkie talkies?) fell into the hands of the TC police. According to Fileleftheros, southside police officers have now been instructed not to talk of serious matters on their walkie talkies and/or to use code words when necessary ... presumably because the GC police suspect their TC counterparts of now listening to their conversations.
Again according to Fileleftheros, the GCs have ordered a new "digital" communication system, apparently costing 6 to 7 miliion euros, though it is not clear from the TC report if this had been planned before the walkie talkies' seizure or as a result of it.
Seized walkie talkies - the main reason for GC police anger?

Probably all they will hear over the walkie-talkies is where the GC police are meeting up for a cuppa and a fag!!

Speaking from experience as an ex-police officer for the City of London & then the Mets., (albeit as a Special Constable), there was lots of radio 'chatter' with codes which = location for a cuppa and fag break or the location for fresh baked goodies from the bakery when on night duty

Do the GC police really think that their radio communications are not already being monitored by the TA. Not a word gets said that the TA don't get to hear.iancrumpy wrote:In another twist to the three GC police officers' arrest and detainment earlier this week, this TC news web-site tells of a news story in the GC newspaper Fileleftheros:
