Re: Gardener.
I pay mine 20 TL per hour. He works on a regular weekly basis summer and winter so is guaranteed this sum yearly.
I am sure the hourly rate may exceed this for casual work but you will have to agree a price before they start work. They may try to give you an overall price for a day's work but it is best to agree an hourly rate.Hope this helps

Re: Gardener.
We pay ours 100tl a day. He gets to us at 8.30 ish and is supposed to work until 4pm (we have large grounds). He started off well 2 years ago but he's leaving earlier and earlier and getting very lazy. Always on his phone, leaving tools out or losing them, not listening to instructions. He will be replaced very soon so if anyone can recommend a good gardener in Ozankoy do let me know.

Re: Gardener.
If you find a good gardener you treat him well and appreciate him.
Gdunk that sounds low pay to me for an eight hour day. We value ours and feed him too. We are not keen gardeners and like a lot if us couldn't look after the garden in this heat. 20TL an hour seems a reasonable price to pay IMO.
Bear in mind it has been Ramadan and extremely hot, I for one couldn't work outside with no food or drink in this weather, could you?

Re: Gardener.
Oh we feed him, give him drinks all day. He has free helping to fruit on our trees. I'm not talking about being lazy in hot weather at all. I couldn't do what he does out there. I'm just saying that's his rate he charges. If he works hard & goes beyond then we treat him. But the last 6 months he's letting things slip. If I ask him not to cut a certain tree or bush he says ok then goes and cuts it, and there is no language problem. Our neighbor has the same problem I might add (we use the same guy).
