On Wednesday, Prime Minister İrsen Küçük attended a ceremony in Yeşilırmak where he announced the plan to renew/improve 7km of road between Gemikonağı and Yeşilırmak.

Yes, the villagers of Yeşilırmak will benefit from this, but the main winners will be the GCs living around Kato Pyrgos, as it will also reduce their travelling time to Nicosia. Therefore, I presume the TC government received a grant from the EU to at least pay part of the cost for the road improvements.
