Terrible news from Nice

Such a tragedy, 84 people dead, when is it all going to end. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this barbaric act.

Unfortunately I don't think it will ever end ...well not in our life time .....this is warfare in the 21st centaury and the powers that be are like frightened rabbits caught in the headlights of this terror and not one of them have a clear view of how to deal with it and so we will continue to experience these atrocities on a regular basis until it becomes the norm.... so very sad for these innocent people who have died or lost loved ones ....such a waste as it solves nothing

Like most of these terrorist attacks, it is aimed at turning the West against Moslems, so that even the vast majority of peacable Moslems are regarded with suspicion, become ostracised, and then eventually, so the terrorists hope, become radicalised.

The only real defence is to not let that happen, and to realise that it is a very small minority of fanatics pursuing this agenda.

We must not let them drive a wedge between East and West, because if they succeed in doing that, we are well and truly ******...

As more "information" and video footage becomes available, intriguing that a motorcyclist (civilian or other?) attempts to open the truck door, and police(?) open fire - all before the truck picks up speed...
A conspiracy theorist might think that this was known of beforehand, and unfortunately was not stopped as planned.....
And what is happening in Turkey as I write?
Breaking News -"Turkey's PM has denounced an "illegal action" by a military "group", with bridges closed in Istanbul and aircraft flying low over the capital, Ankara." (I notice Dalartokat has just posted about this...)
