I am taking my mum to Istanbul but she has trouble walking especially up hills and would struggle with hill at the end of the day.
I need to know if either the World Heritage Hotel or the Burckin Hotel are on a hill.
I have phoned both hotels but they are not very forthcoming with this info as they want the booking!
Thank you

Hi,
The whole of Sultanhamet is on a hill, the only real area that is flat is round the hippodrome area. At the end of this is the stop for the tram which will take you up the hill or down to the harbour. I would say for walking Taxim Square would be a better bet but then that is away from all the sights.

Re: World Heritage or Burckin Hotel in Sultanahmet?
We stayed at World Heritage 2 years ago and it's very nice with very helpful staff. Yes it is on a hill but if you are coming from the tram station it is fairly flat walk. If you are walking from the hippodrome, blue mosque, etc it's uphill but as previous poster points out most places in Sultanahmet will involve a hill at some point. The hotel has a small lift to all floors, breakfast is served at the top of the hotel. Refreshments and cake are available in the foyer in the afternoon and even though we arrived at 9am to dump our bags, they insisted in giving us breakfast and getting our room ready for us.

Thank you both for your time, chose the Burckin as it is on the tram line more or less.
