Praise for TRNC London Office
I needed to have a POA certified by the TRNC London office and was told by more than one person in Northern Cyprus that the only way this could be done was by going to the London office, nearly 500 miles away from where the grantor and grantee live. I spoke to a very helpful lady in the office who told me that the POA could be notarised by a Scottish Notary Public and sent by post to London for certification for which a very modest charge is made. The lady manning the London office could not have been more helpful. I am posting this partly because there may be others who are not aware that certification of documents can be done in this way. If the document is more than one page each page must have the Notary Public's seal and signature not just on the signing page as in Scotland.

Re: Praise for TRNC London Office
Very interesting; I live in the north of England and (a couple of years ago) had to get a POA certified. Following advice from a TC friend, I went down to London - be interesting to see if (because of some differences between Scottish and English legal systems) it also applies in England- I would guess that it does, as it must be down to the TRNC to decide just who they will accept...
(If there's a) Next time, I'll phone the London office first....
Thanks!

Re: Praise for TRNC London Office
My parents had their POA drawn up by a Peyman, sent to their solicitor in Devon who sent it to London and then returned to here by somebody flying out, passed to me to give to peyman to complete the sale on their house. I did think London would of returned it to peyman due to what had been said in the past on how it couldn't be done.
as you say London was very helpful , again so many listen and never ask!

Friends of our's had a POA notarised in Sheffield, for those that live in that area. I believe you can get details off an advocate in TRNC.

POA is Power of Attorney, basically where you sign over power to someone like a family member or lawyer to be able to sign off documents on your behalf.

Used the London office yesterday and received a first class service efficient service. It would be great if they were a DHL collection point as well!
