I would guess that you will have to start the whole process of obtaining permission. Do you have full kojan if so do what the locals do - just build it and say nothing. If you have only a land kojan or a shared kojan, then you would probably have to do the whole process anyway so tack it on to that. Mine only took 4 years to achieve.

I had a similar issue when it came to selling my Villa, my pool wasn't shown as being private on the Kochan even though there are walls all around, advice from the land registry was that it would be a complicated and potentially expensive process. As it turned out a local Cypriot bought it and it wasn't an issue for him.

Using the same architect who did the original plans helps or he may expect a fee to use his drawings to include the pool.
It will be his fee, plus land registry fee and the official who has to visit., then double it just in case they have forgotten to tell you something , if you do through an advocate add their fee in too or be prepared for lots of trips to the municipality for the checks and paperwork.

for some reason anything added after the Kocan never seemed to be an issue but now buyers are more aware of regulations.
If you are after your originally Kocan I have known pools to be boarded over for a few days with gravel on top while the official offices carry out their inspection, I did wonder what they thought the silver garden feature was. (steps) but all was passed, Kosan issued without pool.
On this island It seems to be a case of who you know and to take a hit when somebody knows more...
