Anybody else fed up with their internet service the moment. Everyday the is a problem and all you get is there is a problem with TTNet and they are working to resolve the problem. Bloody annoying.

Unlike Him indoors, I'm slowly getting into the "I can't do a bloody thing about It so I might as well just lump it" HOWEVER the cricket season is still on, the football starts any time that's without mentioned the Rugby and other sports, so Lord only knows that the atmosphere I going to be in this household. Its a bit like the Curates Egg and we have to live with it because the powers that be seem to have an answer to absolutely everything and its never their fault (regardless of whoever your ISP is)!!!!

Sophie you're right, we do have to lump it, literally. Any complaint is met with a barrage of excuses that they must have been trained in giving; they seem to think we're all morons and will be blinded by their technical talk; what we do know is that we pay a lot of money for a crappy service, but unfortunately there is no alternative, worse luck, perhaps one day someone will come along that can provide a reasonable service, but I'm not holding my breath!

Had a message from MM to say TTNet link was causing problems.

If you search the forum there is plenty of technical information which explains why the problem is not always part of the infrastructure provided by your ISP.

Overall the service received here in N Cyprus is in my opinion very good given that this is an isolated state and relies heavily on Turkey.

Echo POD' s opinion as to the service we get now. I go back to the days of Asynet operation out of a flat at the back of the original Ezcic chicken in Girne. The level of service and internet accessibility is not perfect but please remember where you are and the infrastructure available to all the ISP's here and make some allowance. This is not the UK or Germany etc.

In Kent last week it took me 3 days to download a film to watch on the plane here (sky broadband). Today in Ozankoy it took 20 minutes to download two films for the journey home.

it would appear that our providers are just as sick about the situation and service coming from turkey as we are, i have just copied this from one of the suppliers and its basically saying here are the email addresses to complain to maybe then something will get done
its not my translation so you will have to read through it and work out what there saying

"To the public and to our precious subscribers,

The Internet services in Northern Cyprus are provided by Turkish Telecom (Turkey) via Turkish Telecom (Turkey), and Turkish Telecom is the only internet provider in the, which is the only internet in the Turkish, and the of the. All Internet service providers (ISP) in the Turkish of the (ISP) is a network of internet service providers in Turkish, and the quality of these services is the quality of the internet, which is most of the quality of the internet. It varies with the right antimatter. Especially in August, when we are in the late August, and the services internet supplier Turkish Telecom provides a serious problem in the service of Turkish Telecom, and these problems can still be able to slow down on internet access during the day. We have been taking service from Turkish Telecom and the internet companies that have been distributed with our own network and trans-transmission networks, using the communication networks that have been defined by Turkish Telecom, and we are demanding an easy solution to the issue of the problem, which is easily resolved. However, most of the time our demands are unanswered or inconclusive, unfortunately, the pain we live in is a real and a problem. Our companies operating in the Turkish are paying for thousands of dollars to the Turkish Telecommunications Agency to get these services from Turkish Telecom, and most of the time is not worth the price. The most important thing to know is that our country is forced to serve us only by Turkish Telecom. In this case, the most accurate and effective thing that the Turkish's internet supplier, Turkish Telecom, is to share the e-mail addresses that we have to share with our users with internet service providers. You can use all of your complaints from the following email addresses to join Turkish Telecom.

I've said this before when it comes up for renewal try someone else. Just commit yourself to three months, that way you get free installation and if it's no good you try another.

Don't commit to 12 months misery with one provider move around till you find someone that gives you what you want.

I know you might save a couple of lira by signing for a year but it's not worth it.

After that email I can't really see the point in shopping around to other ISP's as the finger as squarely been pointed at the infrastructure.
I suppose we should do what we Brits do best and moan like hell to the email addresses provided ?

I know I'll probably regret this, BUT the service this evening is perfect. Him in doors is watching the cricket, without tearing out what little hair he has, I've sent two e-cards and they have reached UK and Oz, within minutes. Skype is almost perfect, so it just goes to show. I'm positive I'm going to regret this, any time now!!!!

As members may know we are in Turkey at the moment and have been for the last 3 months, TTNET are to blame we get buffering sometimes the net goes off for a couple of minute, we do not get any messages from TTNET or our supplier STARNET here in Gazipasa, so this is localised to the TRNC. It is right to keep blaming the suppliers in the TRNC.

At the end of the day you choose your North Cyprus ISP. They are all eventually linked to Turk Telecom who dictate what and when they will supply the service.

Of course if it's a problem on island then your ISP is responsible for resolving. If it's a problem with Turk Telecom or further up the chain then your ISP will be doing all they can to resolve but it seems their hands are very much tied in this instance.

I am not sure changing you on island ISP will have much affect - you may get a quicker response to problems, it may be a little cheaper but they will all have the same issue with Turk Telecom who are proving difficult to deal with and are certainly playing the big brother hand.

I still say that given the constraints here in North Cyprus, the internet service overall is very good and cost competitive.

This is a copy of an email received from Multimax, similar to the above but including an important bit that is missing from the first one:

Respectfully Duyurulur the public and our valuable subscriber;

As it is known in North Cyprus Turkish Telekom's internet service Cyprus Telecommunications apartment (Turkey) it is provided by means of Turk Telekom, Turkish Cyprus one internet backbone providers in general and also the sole owner of the fiber-optic line between the TRNC and Turkey. All Internet Service Providers operating within the borders of TRNC 'in (ISP) again through the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority of Turk Telekom from making public line purchases in the TRNC gives Internet Service Providers service and most of the quality of these services when Internet quality it provides to the candidate's Turk Telekom with varies proportionally. We were in particular in August and we have passed in July TRNC Internet providers in the service provided to our country's Turk Telekom is experiencing serious problems and from time to time in the problems of the day can have up to cut even a slowdown in the internet. We we request periodic interventions for easy solutions to the problems and to get in touch in every problem by using Turk Telekom service took TRNC across their network and transmission network we in the distribution of that Internet companies as aforesaid problems supplier of Turk Telekom and welcoming defined communication networks. But unfortunately most of the time in which we live demands of our pain or inconclusive missed and is a real problem. Our company activities each month showing that the TRNC TRNC Telecommunications service suppliers up to hundreds of thousands of pounds to get from the apartment to pay the price at the Turk Telekom and often not reap the benefits of these costs. The most important issue we have to be aware of the laws of our country is only obliged to keep receiving services from Turk Telekom. We believe that in this case the bride's most accurate and effective things you can do TRNC internet provider Turk Telekom's Internet Service Providers we communicate with e-mail addresses that you have to share with our users. The following e-mail all complaints arising from this situation experienced in using addresses that you can pass to Turk Telekom.

I have removed all the email address from the bottom BUT - can you spot the difference???

Well I have an internet package on my phone with Turkcell.
This Never goes off!!
Whenever my house internet goes off I can still use my phone
Is this not subject to North Cyprus Turkish Telekom? [Turk Telekom]

I would love someone to explain how this can happen, If it's a general cable problem then surely all internet would be off.
Is ADSEL affected?

KKTCELL
Kuzey Kibris Turkcell, a 100% owned subsidiary of Turkcell, was established in 1999 and operated within the framework of a revenue-sharing agreement with the Telecommunications Authority of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus up until 2007. In the same year it signed an 18 year GSM license agreement. With this, the GSM Mobile Telephone System revenue sharing agreement signed in 1999 was terminated.

Having launched 3G technology in Northern Cyprus in October 2008, the company tested the delivery of 4G services to public in 2014, the first studies of which begun in 2009. In 2010, through its radio link project, KKTCell accessed the international gateway and in 2012, Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell acquired Internet Service Provider and Infrastructure establishment and operation licenses.

Covering 100% of the population, Northern Cyprus Turkcell is the leading operator providing services in the TRNC market, with a 71% market share according to Information Technologies and Communications Authority data of September 2015.

So your Internet service via Turkcell is not on the fibre but via it's radio link project!
