Eye problem
Got something in my eye a couple of days ago. I can't see it and neither can my partner, tried rinsing my eye with water, no good. My eye is bloodshot. It is under my top lid.
Should I go to a doctor's or hospital? We are swallows and never needed medical help before.
We are based in Catalkoy
Thanks

Re: Eye problem
An eye clinic is located just by the Bellaipais traffic lights. Coming down from Ozankoy with Starling on your left, go straight over at the lights and the clinic is on the first road on the right. Hope they are able to help.

Re: Eye problem
Theclinic Kanonier mentioned is the Cyprus Eye Clinic, Optician Dr. Hatice (pronounced Hatije) Phone 815 9893. Very good English speaking and very professional, but it is of course a private clinic and fee paying. #
If money is a problem you could try the General Hospital, where emergencies are free or very small charge. On the right hand side just before the Post office from the Catalkoy direction. Parkin is difficult and you may have to wait while.##
Or you could try a chemist. The one on the right in the parade just before Lemar (coming from Catalkoy direction) is very helpful (his daughter is a doctor ) and ifhe cant help will advise you where best to go.

Re: Eye problem
Thank you for your replies. Money is not a problem if it is hugely expensive we have annual travel insurance. If it is the same in the morning will go to the eye clinic as that seems the best option.
Thanks again

Re: Eye problem
In that case the clinic is probably best, as I am sure they wil be able to produce a sufficient receipt for insurance purposes.... If it is any comfort I had a similar problem last year - some insect flew in my eye and despite constant rinsing I still had pain. Hatice diagnosed a small infection, prescribed drops and all cleared up in five days.

Re: Eye problem
Did not want to go into town yesterday as it was a holiday so I left it until today, woke with a gluey eye so I decided it probably is an infection. Went to the chemist you recommended and have two lots of eye drops. I was told not to get soap or shampoo in my eyes at any cost. Just had a shower wearing a snorkel mask lol.

Entirely agree with Ozanoys - take care of your eyes. If the chemist's drops do not work in, say five days, go and see Dr. H. By the way, I forget to say she is pretty busy so best o phone first for appointment. Let us know how you get on
