Has anybody had experience of charges for importing these as the selection is not great locally.
Thanks for any advice.

I can't help with estimating import cost for an electric bike. You could remove the battery and bring that in separately, claim the bike is just a pedal bike. If in the UK, whereabouts are you as I have another solution that may help.

I am in Warwickshire but travel all over England & Wales, I am looking at possibly shipping over by land courier rather than planes.a1sysman wrote:I can't help with estimating import cost for an electric bike. Re: Importing electric mountain bike
Yes about importing/exportingelectric bike. Short answer do not bother. Did this Sept 2016 ( import to TRNC), not too difficult and reasonably priced but Ralf was put out if business so could not help then wanted to get it back to UK. Dolphin took it back, but had a lot of trouble at England end, took nearly 10 eeeks to arrive and release. And had to pay £170 import dut and VAT to release from bond. HMRC very very unhelpful. If you still want to bring over would suggest bringing the bike (less batteries) on the plane, and sending batteries by DHL or similar, preferably to a South Cyprus post box address. Otherwise buy a bike over here!! Ours was a GTech so batteries quite light but, as you say, cannot travel by air, must be overland.
