Granite Worktops

Will be flying out shortly and want to replace our kitchen worktop. Have had a quote for a 3meter length of Galaxy Black Granit supplied and fitted including hob/sink cutting for £750. Is this a good price as only know price in Turkey which are much cheaper.

Any contacts or suggestions would be appreciated, we are in Tatlisu,

I don't know whether 750 is a good price or not. BUT would suggest you wait until you get here and make friends with a TC and get them to obtain quotations for you. You'd be surprised at the difference.

We, and friends of ours, have used Seastone Ltd for granite worktops.
They advertise on this forum: http://www.seastonetrnc.com - see examples and testimonials on their front page.
Raif is a London Turkish Cypriot and is very knowledgeable on all forms of "stone".
Excellent service and keen pricing.

We live in Dipkarpaz and used these people at Bogaz. We had just over 5m of worktop with cut outs done for hob and kitchen sink and paid TL 3200 Fully fitted.

This may help you: http://homeguides.sfgate.com/grade-diff ... 86273.html . There are many and varied "Granite's" available and many and varied prices as well. But as none of us (sic) are experts then you get what you pay for - if you are happy with what you get then you paid the right price!

Thanks for all the replies. The quote was from Seastone and was given whilst we had some new Windows and Mozzie nets fitted. The work they did was excellent and service wonderful, but it's always good to ask around about prices as we are new to TRNC as we have been in Turkey for a number of years and the price there are soooooo much cheaper over there,

We paid 3500 tl for cimstone but the granite was the same price for 7 meter u-shape . From ker-is-mer on the industrial estate in famagusta near the main ekor . It was about two years ago . They where about 50 % cheaper than the kitchen company we where using who offered us exactly the same worktop. Excellent job.
