Garanti bank ATM problem

Does anyone have contact details for an English speaking person at Garanti? I tried to withdraw sterling from the ATM this morning, it gave me a receipt but no money! I’ve tried going into the bank and phoning Lefkoşa and Girne and got nowhere. I have notified my UK bank who will help if the money isn’t in my account within 24 hours. However I would be happier speaking to someone from Garanti. Thanks.

Good luck with that! Ha. Sad to say I had several similar instances last summer (you think I would have learned the 1st time) The first time when I withdrew 200 lira, the transaction fee was 300 lira. I hit "cancel" but it proceeded never the less. Second time it ate my debit card. Had to wait 3 weeks to get it returned.. they could not find it, and then informed me that the company they had contracted with to tend to the machines only serviced them every 10 day, excluding weekends. The third time, it just ate my card for no reason - I hadn't even begun my transaction selections. Their response: It was the sun shining on the sensors that caused the malfunction. Never did get a return call from the turkey main branch, and never really interacted with any teller who spoke enough english to make me at ease.

I no longer use their ATMs.

I gave up using Garanti Bank machines a couple of years ago, after losing my card in the machines at least three times, receiving receipts, but no money on several occasions, then having to go into Girne, where there was an English speaker, but I received nothing but belligerence and rudeness from her.
