Merit Royal
Anyone been there lately. We don't want to go to one of their al la carte Restaurants but would like to go to have a buffet meal. I know earlier this year people were being turned away at lunch time because they were not staying at the hotel (I was one of them) but I'm not sure in the evening. Two of us have phoned today and had two different replies. Thanks

Re: Merit Royal
We often go to their Italian but feel that the price for their lunch buffet increased significantly last year so we have not tried it for a while.
However I can thoroughly recommend an alternative that six of us tried last Friday night - the buffet at the Kaya Palazzo.
Not the cheapest at 150TL but all drinks (including imported spirits) are included.
The range and quality of food certainly exceeds the Merit Royal. Get there at 1930 since they stop serving at 2130.

Re: Merit Royal
Paul 90, thanks for that. but as Merit Royal is literally minutes away I would still like to know what the situation is with regard to Buffet in the evening. Two of our party are under 14 so we don't want to have to pay all inclusive of drinks for them. Might do later in the year though.

The Kaya Palazzo offers 3 prices for all inclusive meals i.e. NO alcohol, limited alcohol (2 drinks) or unlimited alcohol
We have tried the kebab & fish restaurants but not the buffet - yet!

Re: Merit Royal
Sophie - to the best of my knowledge the Merit Royal will not allow children to enter the hotel, there is a big sign on the door.
I thought it was for under 14s but I am not sure if it is 12 or 14.
