Just got some Sterling out of Garanti bank ATM (garage near Escape) and see that there is now a charge of 2.5% on each withdrawal of Sterling and a limit of £300 per day. (I do not think that my UK bank has changed the ability to take out £500 in one transaction in one day, but I will check.) Is this only Sterling or are we also now charged for TL when taking from an ATM?
Also as it will cost me nearly £10 to take say £500 out is it actually now cheaper to take Lira out and change into Sterling??? My maths aren't good enough to do this! I need Sterling for a Sterling savings account. My own UK bank does not charge me for these transactions so it must be these banks here.
