Amazon Echo dot question

We have the Amazon Echo dot which has been working fine. We are currently away, have tried connecting the device but the Orange light comes on. It tells me to go to the Amazon app and follow the instructions, unfortunately I cannot down load the app to my phone.

Can anyone please direct me what to do when the Orange light is on please, what to do next? We do have internet in the hotel.

I think you need a device with the app to connect to the hotel's wifi, then using the app connect the amazon dot to that device initially.

I brought my echo dot over from the UK but couldn’t get it to work here either, wouldn’t let me connect to another internet for some reason. As soon as I plugged it in back home it worked fine. Have yet to set my daughters echo dot up here in Cyprus, hopefully there will not be a problem doing this.

Thanks for the replies, got it working now after banging my head against the wall 12 times. Sore head but great music at last!!
