Had my op on Wednesday. I was a bit scared but really it was fine. Had a nice room as drops have to be put in the eye every twenty minutes had 5 lots in total. The actual op took 45 mins totally pain free. I was discharged after half an hour complete with eye patch and more drops.I had no blood tests before hand went back today for a checkup and had the patch removed.I go back in two weeks and must continue with the drops until then. I have glaucoma so it was a bit different to normal surgery. Wonderful doctor so kind and caring. Dr. Huseyin Serdar at Kamilolgu Hospital Kyrenia.

My glaucoma has been much improved to such an extent that I no longer need eye drops since my cataract op. Reason being that now the fluid has room to drain as normal. Fingers crossed it is the same for you. I do still have regular checks on the pressures but after 8 months they are still well within where they should be.

Hopefully that will be the case for me too soon. My pressure was really high today but he thought it was due to so much medication yesterday. He removed some fluid from the eye as a precaution. So fingers crossed it will drop.

At the Cyprus Eye clinic where I had mine done it was £800 per eye but 10% off for BRS members. Far cheaper than the UK where it is between £4000 and £5000 per eye when I last checked unless you are lucky enough to get sorted via the NHS.
