Accredited New University offering 75-100% scholarshps!

Having taken over by one of the biggest Vakıf Universities in Istanbul Turkey at the end of last year, Accredited Cyprus Science University in Girne (the one next to the Bellapais roundabout with Harry Potter towers ) is offering 75%-100% scholarships to this years applicants in honour of registering their first set of students internationally and locally from TRNC and TC citizens WHO have lived over 4 years in Cyprus. These residents will have to take University's entrance exam based on a test including a cocktail of questions from Turkish, Maths, English, Geography, Cyprus history etc. (general Lycee subjects).

I have also been informed that all foreign residents living in Cyprus (and their children) will also be getting an automatic 60% discount for this years registrations should they apply to the universinty through the local selection system. THEY WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO TAKE ANY TESTS since they are classified same as foreign national applicants from abroad and the Universities now are accepting GCSE and GCE A/S certifications as adequate. I am informed that the undergraduate course fees for foreign nationals wil be around 2000 GBP per year. However private applicants to the university may be able to ask for further discounts and/or payment in installments over two terms (Autumn and Spring) by talking to the University rectors.

There are some very good 4 year undergradusate degree and 2 year Associate degree programs in English. Typical English ones being Aviation Management and Aviation Transport Management offering good employment opportunities in the Aviation Industry and in Airports (also available is the "Aviation Cabin services" only in Turkish for this year). There are other few engineering courses that are also being offered in English.

Furthermore, my information is that 2 years Masters course will cost a total of 1720 GBP (at todays USD Exchange rates) i.e. 885 GBP first year + 835 GBP second year.

The above may be an opprtunity for those who may wish to follow further education that will not cost an arm and a leg.
