Speeding what if it was not your fault.?

Hi,

My friend took her car to a garage to check what was wrong with it. They said they would take it out for a spin. My friend (who never ever speeds) has now got a speeding ticket ( supposedly doing 80km in a 65 km zone) got a 262 TL fine and 5 points off her license. She knows she did not do it and can fit in the date exactly.

Anybody else had this problem?

Thanks

Hi lily10,
A few years ago my wife was at a Charity Event.
The owner of the venue where the event was being held,
had run short of supplies, and asked to borrow the car.

Months later, we were informed by the police
we had an outstanding speeding fine.
We asked about the details of the offence.
Turns out the fine was for the exact time when the car had been borrowed!
Paid the fine and took the hit

Always keep a note of who & when your car is being driven by others.

You are entitled to ask for photographic evidence, which will show who was driving the car.

KC is right. When I got my fine we weren't sure who was driving on that particular trip, but the photograph evidence was as clear as can be that it was me. (Sadly)

The case in the UK. You can state who was driving at the time.

Here, I would go to the garage and speak to them, if they are decent they will cough up, if not see the photo evidence and get the police to follow.
Some are wise and some otherwise.....

There is an notation of the exact time and the Speed Camera in question, so surely that gives you an idea who was driving and when.

Several years ago my other half went through the camera slightly over the speed limit. He knew he'd done it, saw the camera flash
I had the misfortune to open the door to the policeman with the clip board.
When he went to the police station the same day to pay the fine the police insisted on putting the points on my license despite the fact that he told them he was driving, which he was.. Strange place this!!

Bonnie, it is natural here for MOST husbands to put the blame on the wife. Has been so for years and the police expect it.
