Alagadi turtles
Students there have had to swim out three times this week to a tour boat from the old harbour telling them to move off as its a protected area. They didnt. I have contacted the coast guard and was told they would go and talk sternly to the owners of Soli Queen. There are fewer turtles nesting this year so anything that disturbs them is so wrong as they were trying to come ashore to lay their eggs but didnt. Shame on that boat!

Deniz1, we are not supposed to name and shame on this forum (at least as far as I can ascertain from Admin) but I disagree and this is a prime example as to when naming and shaming is the right thing to do.

Maybe not but why should people get away with behavior like that. I spoke to a friend who owns 2 tours boats and she said we are not allowed to park at that beach. If the post gets taken down so be it 155 people have read i so thats good.

I don't think that you shouldn't mention it on here (although it does depend on the view that Admin takes, and they haven't spotted/commented on this thread yet...) but that won't actually get anything done about it, will it?
Best report it to the Police, and push for some official action against the perpetrators if you're serious about the matter.

Re: Alagadi turtles
From what I understand if a beach is protected due to a species then it is ILLEGAL regardless of where in the world it is to flout the rules and refuse to leave, so i hope that the post is allowed to remain and good for bringing this to peoples attention via name and shame as clearly this boat is breaking the law. fingers crossed that the coastguard takes action as usually the coastguard will chase off fishing vessels within the shoreline where it is illegal so the boat in question should be moved also. disgusting behaviour that they refuse to move.
