private messages
Yesterday (Keith Caley) and the day before (JohnRebus) I wrote private messages , reviewed and checked them and clicked on the "submit" Icon. To my horror, I find that neither message appears in my Out or Sent Box so I assume they have not gone. Please what did I do wrong?
My apologies to Keith and John. Neither message provided the info John wants, nor any vital information.

Re: private messages
I can't think of anything specific, although it is always worthwhile waiting until you get a confirmation message when sending a PM (or, indeed, posting a normal message on the Forum) and checking the text that you have submitted.
Soner is probably the best person to answer this, so I've PMd him - assuming that it's actually gone, that is!

Not sure what has gone wrong. There was another incident where member could not send PM, so I have asked my programmer to look into it. Will update you with any findings.

Re: private messages
RR, my programmer is asking whether your were trying to upload anything, other than submitting written text?

Re: private messages
No Soner. I simply clicked on the poster's name on the post to get his details , then clicked on "Private Message", typed my message and clicked on submit.
I had another message "lost" a week or two ago but did not follow it up as the content was not important enoough.
I am the first to admit to being computer illiterate but I can see what I could have done wrong here. Thanks for looking into it.

Re: private messages
I cant send the text because it does not appear in either Send or Out boxes. !!!
However on double-checking I find a small print note in Send that "Folder is full". Does this explain it and would it stop the recipients from getting the message?
Will removing old messages solve the problem, and if so how do I do it .. I have spend ages looking for instructions but can find nothing.
PS Yes I know people keep saying type messages in Notepad or something and copy them , but it is far to complicated and takes too long for me and spoils the spontaneity of the forum.

Re: private messages
RR, should not make any difference if Sent Box is full, no need to delete anything.
Can you please try and send me a test PM, and post on here to confirm when you have done so. Thank you.

Re: private messages
Surely if you empty (delete) your sent messages, you will not have a record of messages sent?
However, if you do want to empty your sent box, go to your sent messages page, select (by ticking) the boxes of those messages to be deleted (on the right), then at bottom of the page, click on pointer by "Mark/unmark as important", change to "Delete marked", and GO.
(Messages you wish to keep should NOT be selected.)
