https://cyprusscene.com/2019/07/01/kill ... ne-update/ All you need to know. Loved the bit "Food & Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available on the night", last time the food was crisps so I won't hold my breath. Costs seem to have gone up in line with inflation, although not sure of which country's inflation, but will still be a good night. Current cost = 179TL.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

picked up my tickets from Best seller, she has advised if you have booked tickets and not mentioned when you would be paying and collecting them, the tickets will be placed back for resale.

Hi Bert, I'm sorry, but I really can't see anyone 'moaning' about it - not on this thread anyway!Bert wrote:No they haven’t performed here before and if people don’t stop F*?&!ng moaning about it they won’t come again. Please give a thought to the kind people who try to organise top acts such as this
Bear in mind that every single post on this thread moves it up to the top of the list on the Forum, improving the chances of casual readers actually seeing it...
As far as I can see, you are the only one who is "F*?&!ng moaning"

Re: Killer Queen at the amphitheatre
Looking at the forecast for tonight - not looking good
some sites are showing the rain this afternoon but others later on
Having never been to the amphitheatre I am assuming its the electric equipment which will be problem therefore there may be no singing in the rain
Rain rain go away,
Come again another day.
I am soooooo looking forward to this concert!!!

Re: Killer Queen at the amphitheatre
waddo I would just like to confirm if you went to see Killer Queen in UK or on any of their 3 USA tours a year you would be paying £35+, they have never played in Cyprus before and we were very lucky to have them play here as they usually play to audiences of 30,000 in the states. personally I think £25 for the whole nights entertainment with support was very reasonable and we raised lots of money for a really worthy cause Tulips.

Re: Killer Queen at the amphitheatre
I know this was for charity and applause you for it, but unfortunately far too many tickets were sold and a lot of people were left having to stand all night or sit in the steps. Not everyone was able to get there for gate opening times, but by buying tickets in advance one would expect to at least have a seat, when we arrived there were no seats left but tickets were still being sold on the door.

Re: Killer Queen at the amphitheatre
The capacity of the Amphitheatre is 2800 we only sold 2200 as we felt that was full enough, there were lots of seats dotted around the front and to the sides, everyone that brought tickets on the door were told it was standing room only for them and they were guided to the VIP areas at the back upstairs. If people brought in advance and did not turn up until late there is little that can be done I'm afraid we did say doors open at 6:30 and obviously no way that seats can be reserved at the Amphitheatre I'm afraid sorry

Re: Killer Queen at the amphitheatre
I know that seats cannot be reserved, but by your reckoning there should have been 600 seats available, I could only see 2 in the far distance and by the time I got half way there they were taken. Why would people sit in the stairways if there were that many seats available?

Re: Killer Queen at the amphitheatre
Maybe people were too spread out with belongings etc, there where lots of empty seats dotted around but obviously hard to see them in such a crowd. Again sorry that you could not find a seat.

Re: Killer Queen at the amphitheatre
CiNF, please note that I did not complain about the ticket cost, in fact I did state that prices have gone up in line with inflation. It was an event - the first of any Queen event - that we were unable to attend and were sad to have missed it but would have willingly sat on the walls to have been there! It seems to have been well received in any event but would love to know what food was available? I fully understand that the ticket prices are higher in other countries and that the attendance levels are greater so good for them to come here to entertain such a small country. Also glad to hear that Tulips has benefited from the night and congratulations to all involved for making it possible!

The Belediye only had sweetcorn, Crisps and snacks lol... We did ask the belediye if we could have a private catering company in to do food and drinks which the belediye charge a hefty fee for by the way and the belediye refused unfortunately.

You can only work within the constraints imposed on you, I don't think that anyone could fault you on that !
The ways of the Belediye are many and mysterious
I'm just glad that I don't have to battle with red tape to organise stuff!

Re: Killer Queen at the amphitheatre
I thoroughly enjoyed my evening, leaving home at 5:30 I was one of the first in my seat and no I was not budging!
While people watching I was amazed how many turned up after Dominic Holmes when it was dark with sticks and struggled with walking. My friend and I commented how like the long empty beach and you settle down to find the next couple come and sit right beside you. The sides especially to the left looking out to sea and the lower seats were quite empty until well into the Queen act
I was horrified that some people did not take their rubbish home with them, hands up who left cans behind.

People, mainly Brits leaving their rubbish behind is shameful and unforgivable and turning up when dark to negotiate dark steps and missing probably the best act of the evening is just daft!

Re: Killer Queen at the amphitheatre
I think we should stop bashing those that took the time and probably a certain amount of risk to put on an excellent event which supported charity. Dominic Homes put on a great warm up performance following a 30 second sound check and I hate to say it had the best vocal of the night the KQ lead had a very "mixed" vocal to be honest, seemingly lost whilst singing then instantly clear and booming whilst talking, hmm.
That said I still think it was an excellent night that was well organised. We took our rubbish with us but I have to say it was not just Brits leaving it behind and to be honest I do not think that it is such a heinous crime at a venue.

Some are wise and some otherwise.....
