I am an early riser and yesterday morning when I booted up the computer on my desktop I have the temperature gauge of Nicosia and Shrewsbury in Shropshire ( where my 2 sons live ). The temp was Nicosia 5 Deg, and Shrewsbury 6 Deg. This morning Nicosia 5 Deg, Shrewsbury 12 Deg. This past 2 weeks or so I have noticed it is warmer during the night in England. Is something wrong with my Computer.

Shows the actual overnight low for Esentepe (historical) - nothing as low as you have stated and cities are generally warmer than rural areas.... so I'm wondering where your figures for Cyprus are coming from. The overnight temp here outside was min 11 degrees C.... We have a min/max temp guage and it concurs with ACCU Weather.

In fact I've just checked the history for Nicosia

At it seems your figures are not replicated... this source is very accurate and reliable.

Foodie could well be correct with the temperature quote for Nicosia. It is currently around 8c there.
We have been around the outskirts of the city when there has been ice on the pavements and you needed top coat on, at the same time the temp on the coast area was several degrees warmer.
For the same reasons got fog bound at Ercan at end of september, all to do with the effect of Messoria Plain on the climate.

Nicosia well hidden from the warmer weather ocver the sea at nights, is the coldest place in Cyprus after Trodos Mountains. Girne is usuall 3-4 degrees higher at nights (vice versa in Summer!) Temperature at this time 16 degrees in Lefkoşa and I think it will spproach 19-20 AROUND 1.00 PM
