6.2 magnitude earthquake causes panic in north-west Turkey

This afternoon, a 30-second 6.2-magnitude earthquake, with an epicentre under the Aegean Sea, about 90km from Çanakkale, caused panic in that city and was clearly felt in Istanbul and Izmir.

As yet no injuries or damage have been reported.
