Beware - Dodgy Gas Bottles!

Yes, they are still about. Just had a blue Intergaz bottle 'die' on me, but there was still 2kg of liquid sloshing around in the bottom of the bottle. An empty bottle weighs 14kg and a full one weighs 24kg (10kg gas charge). My empty bottle weighed 16kg so have paid for 2kg of what? Water maybe? Told the supplier and they just shrugged their shoulders even when I compared my bottle to one of the other empties there. No sloshing and much lighter. Grrr!

Couldn't care less, could they? I miss a lot about Cyprus, but I do not miss that shrug!

Might be worth buying one of those luggage or fishing scales for a quick check

solarmartin how many bottles do you have to keep this going? I know their not that expensive but must be a hassle with all the empties!!!
Our neighbor has a garden full where they just get another and never take the empties back!

I have been told that this can be sorted by putting the gas bottle in a tray of hot water, never tries it myself but it causes the gas to evapourate. Just a problem in winter.
