Be aware, virus present after symptoms go
I spotted this on a daily newsletter from http://webmd.com, which I have found to be a reliable source of information over the last few years: -
April 3, 2020 (HealthDay News) -- Even after people with mild cases of COVID-19 feel better, new research shows that half still have the virus for up to eight days after symptoms are gone.
That's the conclusion of a small international study of 16 COVID-19 patients in China. The researchers took several throat swabs from all of them.
"The most significant finding from our study is that half of the patients kept shedding the virus even after resolution of their symptoms," said co-lead author Lokesh Sharma, an instructor at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn. "More severe infections may have even longer shedding times."
It took about five days from the time patients were infected until symptoms appeared, and about eight days before they disappeared. Patients were contagious for one to eight days, the researchers said in a news release from the American Thoracic Society.
Study co-author Dr. Lixin Xie, of Chinese PLA General Hospital in Beijing, advised: "If you had mild respiratory symptoms from COVID-19 and were staying at home so as not to infect people, extend your quarantine for another two weeks after recovery to ensure that you don't infect other people."
Xie and Sharma cautioned doctors that COVID-19 can spread even after symptoms disappear, so patients who have recovered need to be treated as if they're still infected.
Xie said more research is needed to learn whether the virus is capable of transmission in the later stages of COVID-19 infection.
The report was published online March 23 in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

Not good news as the people in the various hotels are being allowed to dispurse to their family homes after completing the relevant isolation to be replaced by the next two plane loads of people from the U.K..

I am not sure that is right. Those that have been released to go back to Germany for example have had three clear tests before they were allowed to leave if you read what the Government here say. It does not say how far apart the three tests were but it also does mean that people who have been tested as positive are tested more than once and not just licked out after 14 days.
A good post Keith and something for all of us to bear in mind should we find ourselves in that position.

Thanks KC, very helpful.
I was reading somewhere, sorry can't remember the source, but it was reliable, not a panic mongering site, that some people carry the virus but show no symptoms whatsoever, don't get ill, but can pass it on. So even if you feel fine, you can still be a carrier. Best to keep safe and stay away from everyone using the safe distance rule when necessary.
Having a low immune system, I've been keeping clear of everyone for weeks now, and only going out for absolute essentials, but mostly my lovely neighbours have been getting me shopping, for which I am so grateful.

What you read Alphamike is very true.
asymptomatic
adjective: asymptomatic
(of a condition or a person) producing or showing no symptoms.
"infection is usually asymptomatic"

Thanks CW. Just so scary to think that folk could be passing it about unknowingly.

A friend passed on a piece of advice...
"Rather than worrying about who might or might not have the virus - just imagine that everyone you see is swinging a large, sharp axe around their head, and treat them accordingly"

A rather wooden response I think.

Thailand on Tuesday reported a sharp fall in the number of new coronavirus cases, compared to previous days.
Health officials said there had been 38 new cases, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 2,258.
In addition to 16 new cases, including imported ones, there are 17 patients linked to previous cases and five people who tested positive but await investigation into how they caught the disease, said Taweesin Wisanuyothin, a spokesman of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration.
It was also reported that a further 31 people had now been discharged having made a full recovery, which means a total of 824 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Thailand.
Health officials said one more person had died, bringing the total number of deaths to 27.
Reuters contributed to this report.
I wonder if that is due to the heat/Temperature
